Weekly Gaming Roundup: Wii Fit & Grand Theft Auto IV released; “Violence due to Video Games” Debunked

In the past fortnight two large games were released: Grand Theft Auto IV for XBox360 and PS3, as well as the fitness game WiiFit for the Nintendo Wii. In my point of view, GTAIV is aimed at those who don’t mind gaining weight by playing games hours on end, where as WiiFit are for those who do want to lose weight utilising a video game.

Wii FitThe Nintendo Wii has been unofficially branded as the console to get for those who are looking for a more interactive way to play games. With Wii Sport coming with every console that is sold, it’s hard to ignore the active nature of this console compared to its predecessors and competitors.

Wine no Hajimekata - Drool over the DS in Stylus

According to DengekiOnline.com Nintendo DS Customers as well as wine connoisseurs will be priveleged to enjoy two luxuries of life at the same time, with a new game called Hajimekata no DS. According to my patchy Japanese from high school, roughly translates to “Wine Starter / Beginner DS”. It should be a relatively fun game to play as it’s being developed by games conglomerate Square Enix, an organisation most famous for its Final Fantasy Series.

Wednesday night, I had the opportunity to attend the first Future Sex Long Sounds JT concert in Sydney - and I loved it. There, I said it - I really did love the performance. Maybe because it was my first pop concert ever, and I haven’t got anything else to compare with… Anyhow I still think it was a solid performance. It was also a better experience seeing how randomly I bumped into like 10 other friends on the night. He is a great performer and has earned every cent of his paycheck. I wouldn’t say he deserved it, I’ll just say he’s earned it.
